ABOUT WE LOVE SOAPS - THE MEDIA COMPANY
Where the Legacy of Soaps Meets the Future of Storytelling
Founded in 2007, We Love Soaps is a boutique media company based in New York City. The We Love Soaps soap opera blog launched that year with the belief that serialized storytelling deserves to be celebrated with intelligence, respect, and genuine passion. What began as a small business and blog has grown into a leading multimedia destination for fans, creators, and anyone who understands the cultural power of soaps. Our productions include Serial Scoop Now, Indie Soap Beat and We Love Soaps Radio.
Soap operas are more than entertainment — they are a living archive of emotion, community, and continuity. Our mission is to honor that legacy while championing the bold new voices redefining the genre for the digital age.

The Indie Series Awards - Supporting the Future of the Genre
We don’t just document history — we help shape what comes next. As early champions of the Indie Soap Movement, We Love Soaps recognized the potential of web series long before they became a cultural force. In 2009, we launched the Indie Series Awards, spotlighting the creators who are pushing serialized storytelling into new territory.
The ISAs celebrate the very best in independently produced entertainment created for the web: bold voices, fearless experimentation, and stories that thrive because they are free from convention.
Independent series are to television what independent films are to cinema — a space where imagination leads, risk is rewarded, and passionate audiences rally behind the creators who dare to innovate. The ISAs exist to champion that spirit.
Over the years, the Indie Series Awards have recognized an extraordinary roster of talent, including Emma Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, Lou Diamond Phillips, Robert Townsend, Cynthia Watros, Judd Hirsch, Sarah Brown, Martha Byrne, Joan Van Ark, Keith Powell, Jim Rash, Michele Lee, Diane Delano, Charlene Tilton and Billy Dee Williams.

Our Vision
Founder Roger Newcomb created We Love Soaps to elevate the conversation around the genre he loved. His vision was clear: to create a space that didn’t look down on soaps, but looked closely at them — celebrating the writing, acting, and production that make serialized drama so enduring and addictive.
Today, our team continues that mission with decades of experience and an unwavering respect for the art form.
